FAQs

  • All sessions are held online. Once you fill out the sign-up form, you will be emailed all details (the Zoom link, the title of the book we are reading and things you need to know before the session).

  • Lower Primary sessions are 30 minutes, all other sessions are 60 minutes.

  • Your first week is FREE with no obligation. After that, Lower Primary (30 min) is $15/week and all other sessions (60 min) are $30/week

  • In the Lower Primary group, children read the book together during the session. In all other groups, students are asked to read about one chapter between sessions. At the next session, we start by talking about what happened in the chapter. There’s no pressure if your child doesn’t get to it — we always begin with a recap so everyone can join in. The focus is on enjoying books and growing a love of reading, not adding stress.

  • You will be emailed an invoice on the Sunday following the session.

  • Of course, on the sign-up form, you can select more than one group.

  • Yes, please. Your child will need a copy of the book to follow along with.

  • Once you sign up, you’ll receive all the information you need. Each week I update a simple document with the title of the current book, the page we are up to, and the pages your child will read for the next session (Lower Primary doesn’t read between sessions). This makes it easy to keep track and stay up to date.

  • Of course you can. Your child can either read up to the page we are up to, or the group can fill them in on what has happened so far.

  • Try your first week completely free with no commitment. If you decide to continue, your child’s place will be held for the rest of the school term. Once enrolled, invoices are issued weekly for the term, as your child’s place is reserved whether they attend or not. However, you can cancel at any time — simply let me know, and invoices will stop immediately.

  • My reading groups are organised by broad stages of schooling rather than strict ages:

    • Lower Primary – usually Years 1–2
    • Middle Primary – usually Years 3–4
    • Upper Primary – usually Years 5–6
    • High School – usually Years 7–9


    These year levels are only a guide. I deliberately don’t label groups by age because every child develops differently, and sometimes they may feel more confident, challenged, or supported in a different group than the one that matches their year level.

    If you’re unsure which group is right for your child, they’re welcome to try two different groups to see which is the better fit. What matters most is not the label, but that your child is engaged, supported, and growing their love of reading.
