Reading Club Commitment Policy

By enrolling in Reading Club, you're reserving a place for your child in a small group. All sessions run in Queensland time (AEST), and as groups are online and open to families anywhere, please make sure the session time works for your family before you book.

Term Commitment and Payments

Because places are limited and I plan each term around confirmed enrolments, your child's place is held for the term once you've booked the session.

Deposit at sign-up

At sign-up, you'll pay a deposit equivalent to one session — $20 for Lower Primary, $30 for everyone else. The deposit secures your child's spot and covers their first session.

Week 1 trial

The first session is your trial. If it isn't the right fit, let me know within 48 hours — no explanation needed — and that's it. The deposit covers session one and is non-refundable, but I'll refund anything you've already paid towards the rest of the term. The spot will then be offered to a child on the notification list.

Commitment after Week 1

After the 48-hour window passes, your child's enrolment is confirmed for the rest of the term. You're committing to the full term from that point.

Paying the balance (weekly direct debit)

After your deposit, the rest of the term is paid by weekly direct debit through GoCardless — 9 weekly payments, one for each remaining session: $20 a week for Lower Primary, $30 a week for everyone else. When you book, you'll receive a link to set up your direct debit. Payments then run automatically each week for 9 weeks, so there's nothing more for you to do.

No refunds for change of mind or missed sessions

Once the Week 1 trial window has passed, no refunds are provided for change of mind, missed sessions, illness, holidays, other commitments, technology issues at your end, or sessions missed because of a time zone mix-up. Remember, all sessions run in QLD time.

Catching up after an absence

If your child misses a session, I keep a weekly reading tracker so they can easily catch up and rejoin the following week.

If I need to cancel a session

If I ever need to cancel a session, I'll contact you as soon as possible and provide either a make-up session, a credit, or a refund for that session.

Joining the session

When you book, you'll receive a digital download with your Zoom link. You'll wait in the Zoom waiting room until I let you in.

Sibling discount

A 10% sibling discount is available for families enrolling more than one child. Because the deposit is equivalent to 10% of the term, the discount is applied by waiving the deposit — so you pay no deposit at checkout and simply pay each child's term balance from there. Your discount code is included in your enrolment email; just enter it at checkout when you're booking more than one child.

Priority enrolment for existing families

Existing families get first pick of next term's groups. Each term, I'll send a short email asking whether you'd like to continue — you'll need to actively opt in, because every family's term commitments look different, and I'd rather ask than assume. A week after that email goes out, enrolment opens to new families — so it's worth booking within that window to keep your child's spot.

School Holidays

My school holiday clubs run a little differently to my term Reading Club groups, so they have their own terms. Please read these before you book.

What you're booking

A school holiday club is a short two-week program — two live, online sessions. These clubs run during the Queensland school holidays, so the dates follow the QLD school holiday schedule. One price covers both sessions.

Payment upfront

Payment is made in full at the time of booking — $40 for Lower Primary, $60 for everyone else. Unlike my term groups, there's no deposit and no Week 1 trial. You're booking the whole two-week program upfront, and your child's place is held just for them.

No refunds for change of mind or missed sessions

School holiday bookings are non-refundable. Because one price holds your child's place across both weeks, no refunds or credits are provided for change of mind, missed sessions, illness, holidays, other commitments, technology issues at your end, or sessions missed because of a time zone mix-up. Remember, all sessions run in QLD time.

If I need to cancel a session

If I'm ever unwell or something prevents a session going ahead, I'll contact you as soon as I can and offer a make-up session, a credit, or a refund for that session.

Joining the session

When you book, you'll receive a digital download with your Zoom link. You'll wait in the Zoom waiting room until I let you in.

Sibling discount

A 10% sibling discount is available when you book more than one child. Your discount code is included in your enrolment email — just enter it at checkout.
